We are looking for a new Head Football coach at New Mexico. Rocky Long resigned yesterday. He was here for eleven years, however he could not make it to the next level. Lot of pressure I'm sure. Long really stepped up and said he had his chance to coach the LOBOS,didn't get to the next level, now he is going to let someone else give it a try. He ended his career at New Mexico with a 65-69 record.

My Cats lost a bad one to a team they should have beat.
We lost most of our offense to NFL like Woodsen- NY, Tamme- Colts, Burton-STL, Johnson- Car, Little-Tenn.
Still we finished 6-6 with a bowl game for a third straight year. Should have been at least 8-4 though.

Ala- plays Fla for SEC championship. Go Gators ! I have a friend that is total Bama and hasnt shut up about them since week 3...uugghh !

Couple of days till the start of the Major Bowls, what are your picks?
Especially the BCS Bowls!
I'm taking Florida over Oklahoma
Penn St over USC
Texas Huge over Ohio State
Cincinnati over Virginia Tech
Utah over Alabama -this one was hard... but lets go MOUNTAIN WEST!!

I'm gonna take the Sooners for the title.
Penn St. got beat by Iowa. Don't see them beating USC.
Agree with Texas and Cincy. Would love to see Utah win, but I hesitate to pick them.
Hope my Canes win in Cali. True freshman will be starting at QB because the redshirt freshman is suspended for the game.

Florida- agree since Okl hasnt played many good defenses lately.
USC- Cant see Penn State scoring enough
Texas- agree and hope so
VT- hope cincy does it but i am leaning this way
Utah- this is a "i hope they win " pick !

I prefer NFL. Not a fan of the college games. But I do have a questions. Why don't they air all the bowl games in one day like they used to? Why do they have stupid names now like Tostito Bowl and PapaJohns.com Bowl. WTF? It used to be Sugar Bowl, Cotton Bowl, etc. Mind you, I didn't know what the difference was (I still don't) but I am really confused now.

It is mainly a money thing now Irene and I liked the older names too.

Yep.. its ALL about the money..sad but true. The colleges have young men play for FREE, and then the players get in trouble for accepting anything from anybody.
I liked the Tangerine Bowl, what happened to that one?

Sad sad sad. And pathetic. I remember the Tangerine Bowl too. Damn. Ok so for example, the Orange Bowl is now called what? I am confused. Back in the day you knew what game was what simply by the name. The Rose Bowl is the Rose Bowl. But what is the Tangerine Bowl called now?

The Tangerine Bowl is now the Capital One Bowl.
It is the Rose Bowl.....-Presented buy Citi Bank.
FedEx Orange Bowl
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl
Allstate Sugar Bowl
Those are the "Major" or "BCS" bowls (the one's that pay out the most money)
I believe that all or most of the college bowl game names have been purchased by companies. You can look up the "payouts" for the bowl games...very interesting for that much money to be involved, and the players receive no monetary reward for their play. No wonder the the players jump to the NFL as soon as possible.

OMG it is a sad state of affairs isn't it? I am so glad that Dodger Stadium is STILL Dodger Stadium. When all these arenas and stadiums want money that bad and allow the corporations to use their name, it just saddens me. Growing up knowing all the bowl games names have changed and all these other places. Sick and sad. Next thing you know schools will sell-out. Kids will be going to University of Tostitos.
