Default The Christmas Carol/Music Thread

Post your favorite Christmas Carols/Music here.

About a year ago I discovered some of the Christmas Carols Remix cd's.

Here is Billy May

I always need to hear my Alexander O'Neal & Mariah

Something a little more modern: Dirty Boyz... funny lyrics.

Video for Hall & Oates: Jingle Bell Rock. This is the version with John Oates on lead vocal. As much as I love Daryl Hall, I always felt John's voice was better suited for this song.

That's just a few... let's hear from you!

I love "All I Want For Christmas" from the Love Actually soundtrack.

Probably my all time favorite Christmas song is U2's version of Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) It just stirs me somehow.

I enjoy Mannheim Steamroller's holiday songs and I have a Rat Pack Xmas CD with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and the gang. I love them guys whether they're singing Xmas songs or not.

My husband's favorite carol is "We Three Kings"...although I was never really able to find a CD with it and I never hear it on the radio much. Guess it's not as popular as the others.

And to you, MRS DOUG....whyever are you sorry? Does Ingrid Michaelson sing a rendition of this song, play a part in that movie or date Hugh Grant? Spill it!

No, it's just cause I babble about the movie Love Actually so often, you must get sick of it although I hope not! It has a great soundtrack, and as I'm sure I've previously mentioned, it's where I discovered one of my favorites, Maroon 5. That was the very first time I heard them.

I know I've got some Christmas CD's with "We Three Kings" on it, and I'm going to have to dig them out. A most unusual and original choice for Mr. RS.

I, too, love any Sinatra songs - Christmas or otherwise.

I've got to search for an Ingrid Michaelson Christmas compiliation although jp said there are no songs available at this point. Ingrid's MySpace now has a picture of her wearing a Christmas hat so it's only a matter of time

I def dig the Rat Pack, too!

As for We Three Kings... do da link.
Although, Kenny G probably wouldn't be your first choice.

If you'll kindly refer to kevinjames.com thread "Some Holiday Spirit for Sweetdiggity", last post on the first page you'll read that I paid money for and enjoyed Love Actually! So no, you don't make me ...at least not about that!

Now why do you think it's unusual for Mr. RS to like "We Three Kings". I think it's very "him": soulful, contemplative and introspective. What, you think someone who likes the song Honkey Tonk Badonkadonk can't be introspective???

True dat! There ain't no one like Frank, Dean & Sammy!

And you're an absolute doll for the We Three Kings link, JP...but...I don't think Kenny G's gonna cut it! I remember hearing a version in deep baratone voices. Kenny's sax is a bit whiney for my taste.

Honestly though, sometimes we'll go for long drives for hours with the radio stations playing their Christmas tunes and not ONE version of this song is played. It's a classic, what's wrong with these radio DJ's? My only guess is that it's not as bouncy and jolly as the rest. And because of that I've gotta listen to Burl Ives all month!!!

A little annoying if played too much, but this classic is still good for a laugh.
