I only went to one red carpet event. It was for the Cable Ace Awards. They don't have those anymore. Anyhoo, when they were on, they were awards given to shows, programming and other stuff shown on cable channels such as HBO, SHOWTIME, etc. Ever since the Emmys now include that kind of programming in their nominations, they dropped the Ace awards. I wasn't even expecting to be on the sidelines, my then husband and our kids happen to be in that area of Hollywood when we seen the commotion going on. Well, the celebs had just started arriving and I seen the marquee which read CABLE ACE AWARDS. I was so excited when we were able to get right to the front (no, I didn't have a camera on me...DAMNIT!!!). I seen this one tall gentleman get out of a limo and lo and behold, it was James Earl Jones. I remember how Mr. Jones took one look at my youngest daughter who was 3 years old and he smiled, waved and said HELLO to her. I will never forget that moment. What a nice man.

I read where when Rocky came out, Elvis Presley invited him over to Graceland to watch it with him but Stallone said he didnt really have time right then.
Talk about "regrets" ! He said, he wished later he would have took time.

MRS DOUG, to be such a Doug fan, have you ever met Kevin in person ?

The scene where Rocky is running across a bridge with a very bleak industrial background and railroad tracks was very close, as was the house where they filmed the exterior shots of the apartment where Rocky lived (with Cuff & Link). Also the pet shop where Adrienne worked, and the gym where Rocky trained were all within walking distance of my house in Kensington (a blue collar working class neighborhood). At the time I used to take the Frankford "EL" (an elevated train that runs above ground) to work every day, and on the way home could observe the shooting when the El reached a certain stop.

A few scenes were shot at "The Italian Market", a huge outdoor market of fruit, vegetable, and seafood vendors in South Philadelphia.

Of course, the most famous scene of all - Rocky running up the Art Museum steps was filmed in center city.

And to answer your question about meeting Kevin - unfortunately I've gotta throw you a great big NO! I have seen him twice in person - once in Atlantic City, and once in Connecticut, but he didn't do a Meet & Greet at either appearance. I'm sure it'll happen one day .

I don't live in Philly. I live in NY, about 20 minutes North of NYC. However, I have been to Philly and did run up the steps like Rocky. I just had to do it since Rocky is in my top 10 favorite movies!

Cool LuvLeah !
I would think anyone that is a Rocky fan would love to do that !
Just today at work, I was jogging up the stairs ( a bunch ) on my way to top floor. As I passed someone, I said "I feel like Rocky Balboa"
