COMING AROUND AGAIN: With "The King of Queens" returning to the air this month on Wednesdays and scoring well in the ratings, Leah Remini reports, "Everyone is so happy we did really great. It just proved that our core fans stay with us." She adds, "When there was talk of our not coming back for year nine, everyone was so sad — from the cast to the lighting department. We came back with a new attitude of appreciation for what we have." She, Kevin James, Jerry Stiller and team are due to "go back in January to make another seven episodes" for the spring.
Meanwhile, Leah is savoring family time with husband Angelo Pagano and their 2 1/2-year-old daughter, Sofia. "My sister is coming for Christmas, and my niece and nephew. Now that I have a daughter especially, it always comes back to family. You gain success in this business, you think it's about money. You think it's about knowing this person or that. Then, you get there and it's, 'OK, so I know this person and it's nice, and the money makes things easier, but it doesn't make you happy. Family, being a good friend, trying to be a good person — that's what it comes down to," notes the actress recently seen among the celeb crowd at the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes nuptials.
She adds, "I was telling Angelo, 'You realize, having a baby is allowing us to be young — everything is new again.' All those experiences — how I felt Christmas morning — come back in a new way that's just as strong. My daughter thinks Santa Claus brings cake, for some reason, so that's what she's going to get."
