Nicollette Sheridan is leaving Desperate Housewives! The actress has mentioned leaving multiple times. Her character, Edie Britt, wasn’t expected to last this long. In the first few seasons, Edie ran around in bikinis and had affairs, but there were many rumors that she was only supposed to be around for a few episodes. Now the actress has established herself as an important part of the ensemble cast.
The bosses at ABC have confirmed that the character will be leaving Wisteria Lane. A spokesperson for the actress said, “Nicollette had a great time on the show and is looking forward to her next project.”
Hopefully, Sheridan will find success. Desperate Housewives has proven that the actress is capable of being more than just a pretty face. Sheridan has been known to make a bad film including Spy Hard, Beverly Hills Ninja, and Codename: The Cleaner. We think she can do better with Housewives under her belt.

Given Housewives fairly random casting we nominate Helen Slater (Supergirl), Leah Remini (King of Queens), or maybe they can go in a completely different direction and have a Yummy Granny in the form of Dame Judy Dench (Quantum of Solace).
