the veronicas 'speechless'
"i thought i could resist you,
i thought that i was strong,
somehow you were different from what i've known.
i didn't see you coming,
you took me by surprise and
you stole my heart before i could say no
falling head over heels
thought i knew how it feels
but with you it's like the first day of my life
you leave me speechless
when you talk to me.
you leave me breathless
the way you look at me.
you managed to disarm me,
my soul is shining through,
i can't help but surrender
my everything to you."

Million Billion - Milk and Honey
"I think I've seen the sparkle in your eye,
enough times to be the death of me."
'I may be down, but I won't hit the ground
without a fight. So, what I'm asking, is...
are you down for the ride?"
This song is a great song, but play it over top of a KOQ's montage, it's hard to hold back the tears.:o

The song by Pebbles called GIVING YOU THE BENEFIT has a lyric that I change just a bit when I sing it:
Here is the actual lyric:
"I could be a trip but I choose not to"
When I sing it I change it to this:
"I could be a bitch but I choose not to" :D

I'm the exact same way! The end of that song is so amazing, the way it builds up. Everytime I listen to it, I picture the series finale video and I get all sad, knowing that the show is over for good!

The songs I have on my page are ones I can relate to, so I don't think they're that sad. They talk about my life.

ok, i'm not a big fan of country music, but i was watching "america's got talent" tonight and someone sang this song and it literally brought tears to my eyes. in light of all of the recent deaths the past 2 weeks, i think this song can speak mountains, and its certainly moved a mountain for me..
Garth Brooks "If Tomorrow Never Comes"
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That shes my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
'Cause Ive lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where theres no second chance to tell her how I feel

Yeah thats good stuff Jen !
I mainly like the older country but Garth's " Unanswered Prayers " has some excellent lyrics as well. :)
Just the other night a hometown football game
My wife nd I ran into my old high school flame
And as I introduced them the past came back to me
And I couldn't help but think of the way things used to be
She was the one that I'd wanted for all times
And each night I'd spend prayin' that God would make her mine
And if he'd only grant me this wish I wished back then
I'd never ask for anything again
Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers
She wasn't quite the angel that I remembered in my dreams
And I could tell that time had changed me
Inn her eyes too it seemed
We tried to talk about the old days
There wasn't much we could recall
I guess the Lord knows what he's doin' after all
And as she walked away and I looked at my wife
And then and there I thanked the good Lord
For the gifts in my life
Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he may not answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers
Some of God's greatest gifts are all too often unanswered...
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

One of my favorite country groups ( yeah, I had a few :laughing out loud: ) growing up was the Oak Ridge Boys. Here are the words to one of my favs of theirs :
EVERYDAY
You know a smile
Never goes out of style
So brighten up the one that you wear
Let it shine
And you just might find
You'll lighten up the load that you bear.
You know with all the trouble and sorrow in the world
It seems like the least we can do
Just take that smile into the street
And share it with everybody you meet.Everyday (Everyday) I want to shake somebody's hand
Everyday (Everyday) I want make somebody know (that thinks they can) that they can (yes
they can)
Everyday (Everyday) I want to try (I want to try)
To show my brothers and sisters that I want to help them along the way Everyday, Everyday.
You know a kind work
Never goes unheard
But too often goes unsaid
And on the tongue
Of the old and the young
Gets swallowed up with pride instead.
You know with all the trouble and sorrow in the world
It seems like the least we can do
Just take a kind word into the street
And share it with everybody you meet.
(repeat chorus)
If they're lost I want to show them the sunshine
If they look tossed I want to throw them a lifeline
I want the reach out my hand (reach out) a hand to hold
Oh yeah, and let 'em know (let 'em know) there's a light (that there's light) down at the end of
the road.
If they're lost I want to show them the sunshine
If they're tossed I want to throw them a lifeline.

From the country side.....I do like several of Brad Paisley's songs and this one is a classic.
I am underlining some of my favorite parts :
I work down at the Pizza Pit
And I drive an old Hyundai
I still live with my mom and dad
I'm 5 foot 3 and overweight
I'm a scifi fanatic
A mild asthmatic
And I've never been to second base
But there's whole 創other me
That you need to see
Go checkout MySpace
'Cause online I'm out in Hollywood
I'm 6 foot 5 and I look damn good
I drive a Maserati
I'm a black-belt in karateAnd I love a good glass of wine
It turns girls on that I知 mysterious
I tell them I don't want nothing serious
'Cause even on a slow day
I could have a three way
Chat with two women at one time
I知 so much cooler online
So much cooler online
When I get home I kiss my mom
And she fixes me a snack
And I head down to my basement bedroom
And fire up my mac
In real life the only time I致e ever even been to L.A
Is when I got the chance with the marching band
To play tuba in the Rose Parade
Online I live in Malibu
I pose for Calvin Klein, I've been in GQ
I'm single and I'm rich
And I've got a set of six pack abs that would blow your mindIt turns girls on that I知 mysterious
I tell them I don't want nothing serious
'Cause even on a slow day
I could have a three way
Chat with two women at one time
I知 so much cooler online
Yeah, I'm cooler online
When you got my kind of stats
It痴 hard to get a date
Let alone a real girlfriend
But I grow another foot and I lose a bunch of weight
Every time I login
Online
I知 out in Hollywood

From the movie Juno:
If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and green
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves
If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and green
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves
All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.
If you were a river in the mountains tall,
The rumble of your water would be my call.
If you were the winter, I know I'd be the snow
Just as long as you were with me, when the cold winds blow.
All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.
If you were a wink, I'd be a nod
If you were a seed, well I'd be a pod.
If you were the floor, I'd wanna be the rug
And if you were a kiss, I know I'd be a hug
All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.
If you were the wood, I'd be the fire.
If you were the love, I'd be the desire.
If you were a castle, I'd be your moat,
And if you were an ocean, I'd learn to float.
All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.
